Platform Overview

About Eduvation

Bringing specialized post-burn rehabilitation care into patients' homes

What Eduvation Is

A comprehensive digital burn rehabilitation and patient education platform. It provides clinical video guides, interactive flashcards, wound-care protocols, and recovery trackers developed by AIIMS specialists.

Who It Is For

Burn survivors recovering at home, family caregivers managing daily dressings and therapy, and community healthcare workers seeking verified post-burn recovery guidance.

Why It Exists

Post-burn recovery takes months, but repeated travel to distant burn centres is physically, financially, and emotionally exhausting. Eduvation prevents preventable complications like contractures and infections by bringing specialist guidance directly home.

Institutional & Grant Support

Conceived and developed by the Department of Burns & Plastic Surgery at the Jai Prakash Narayan Apex Trauma Centre (JPNATC), supported through an intramural research grant by AIIMS New Delhi (PI: Dr. Suvashis Dash).

Publications & Research Papers

Selected peer-reviewed publications and book chapters by Dr. Suvashis Dash.

📚 Dedicated Research Section

Explore the Comprehensive Burn Research Portal

Categorized into Burn Care, Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy, Mental Health, Scar Management, Pain Management, and Caregiver Support — featuring patient-friendly summaries and academic study data.

Medical & Healthcare Disclaimer

The AIIMS Burn Rehabilitation Portal is an educational patient resource produced by the Department of Burns, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, AIIMS New Delhi. Content presented on this portal (including videos, flashcards, nutrition guidelines, and meditation exercises) is intended strictly for general patient education and home rehabilitation guidance. It does NOT constitute individualized medical advice, clinical diagnosis, or a substitute for professional medical care. Always consult your attending burn surgeon or healthcare team for specific medical decisions.

1. Introduction

The AIIMS Burn Rehabilitation Portal ("BurnCare", "we", "our", or "us") is dedicated to protecting the privacy of patients, caregivers, and medical professionals who utilize our digital health education platform.

This Privacy Policy outlines how our application operates, what information is processed, how local storage is utilized, and how we uphold patient privacy in accordance with international digital standards and Google Play Console Developer Policies.

2. Information We Collect

BurnCare is designed with a privacy-first, offline-first architecture. We do NOT collect, harvest, or transmit personal identity data to external servers.

A. Personal Identification Data

No user accounts, sign-ups, passwords, phone numbers, or email registrations are required to use BurnCare. You can access all educational modules freely and anonymously.

B. Optional Feedback Submissions

Our portal includes a feedback section (`#page-feedback`) where users may optionally type a name and feedback message. This input is handled strictly within the client user interface to render a confirmation toast message (`feedback-toast`) and is NOT stored in databases or transmitted across the internet.

C. Interactive Calculator Inputs

In the Nutrition module (`#page-nutrition`), users can enter height (feet/inches) and weight (kg) to compute body mass index (BMI) and protein recommendations. These numbers are calculated entirely in local JavaScript (`nutriCalcBMI()`) and are never sent to a server.

3. Health & Medical Information

BurnCare does NOT collect, store, or process medical records, clinical diagnostic data, prescriptions, treatment logs, or Electronic Health Records (EHR). All rehabilitation guides and checklists are provided for general educational self-care.

4. Images and Photographs

BurnCare does NOT request access to your device camera or photo gallery. The application does not allow uploading, scanning, or transmitting burn wound photographs, medical scans, or personal pictures.

5. How We Use Information

Any data stored locally on your device is used solely to provide a personalized user experience:

  • To remember your selected interface language (e.g. English, Hindi, Bengali, etc.).
  • To save flashcard study progress, quiz completion statuses, and achievement badges.
  • To track completed guided meditation sessions locally.
  • To prevent repeated displays of session notification prompts.

6. How We Store Information

All stored data resides 100% locally on your device using standard browser web storage (`localStorage` and `sessionStorage`). No central cloud databases, remote servers, or external storage systems are used.

7. Data Retention

Local storage data remains on your device until you manually clear your browser site data or uninstall the application container. Because data is never sent to our servers, we hold no retained user data on remote infrastructure.

8. Sharing and Disclosure of Information

Because BurnCare does not collect personal data, we do NOT sell, rent, trade, share, or disclose any user information to third parties, commercial advertisers, data brokers, or external entities under any circumstances.

9. Third-Party Services

BurnCare does not integrate third-party advertising SDKs, commercial tracking plugins, or external payment portals. All educational assets (videos, flashcards, audio guides) are served directly from the application bundle and local host.

10. AI / Artificial Intelligence Processing

BurnCare does NOT use artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning models, external LLM APIs, or automated diagnostic algorithms to process user inputs or evaluate health conditions.

11. Cookies and Similar Technologies

BurnCare does NOT use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We rely exclusively on client-side web storage mechanisms built into standard browsers:

Storage Key Type Purpose
burn_rehab_lang localStorage Stores user language preference
fc_* localStorage Saves flashcard module progress and scores
aiims_med_sessions localStorage Tracks meditation session counter
aiims_prog_* localStorage Stores achievement badges & milestones
aiims_tour_completed localStorage Remembers onboarding tour completion
aiims_hindi_prompt_shown sessionStorage Session flag for language suggestion banner

12. Analytics and Crash Reporting

BurnCare does not use third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics) or third-party telemetry tools. We do not track individual user click behavior or app navigation paths.

13. Data Security

Because user data is strictly confined to local storage on your device, risks associated with remote server breaches, database leaks, or unauthorized network interception are minimized. When accessed via web browsers, standard HTTPS encryption protects data in transit.

14. Children's Privacy

BurnCare is an educational portal suitable for patients of all ages, including pediatric burn recovery under parent or caregiver supervision. We do not knowingly collect or request personal information from children or any other users.

15. User Rights & Data Deletion Procedure

You maintain 100% control over your data. You can inspect, modify, or erase all stored information at any time without contacting an administrator:

How to Delete Your Data Immediately:

  1. In Web Browsers: Open your browser settings → Privacy & Security → Clear Browsing Data / Site Data for this website.
  2. In Mobile App (Android/iOS): Open Device Settings → Apps → AIIMS Burn Rehabilitation → Storage → Clear Data & Cache.

16. International Data Transfers

Because all application data remains stored on your local device, no cross-border data transfers or international server processing occur.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect enhancements to our portal or regulatory changes. Any modifications will be posted directly on this page with an updated "Last Updated" revision date.
